Hi Guys,

Some here know I've been a long time moderator on ChevyTalk.com and with that length in position I've seen a lot of testimonials about various companies and their products.

Most are run of the mill ok, however we have a GM Tech on the CT moderator team who is highly regarded in Chevy circles on the US east coast (not to mention has some of the rarest Chevys ever built in his collection) who has given RockAuto.com a glowing A+.

If Ollie reckons its one of the best he's used then its good enough for me, and perhaps if you're needing a part its got to be at least worth a look-see - RockAuto.com (http://www.rockauto.com)

I haven't used them myself as I've just read about them in the management forum in CT, so you're getting this info hot off the cyber-press.

If anybody does decide to try them could you let us know how you got on re postage costs, etc?

Scotty. ;)

Scotty,

Heard good reports about Rockauto as well !:)

One of the mods on AMVO uses them and sings their praises.
Gonna be looking for a few bits, nearer Easter time, so will look into
giving them a wee try !;)

I have used them very reasonable on pricing and speedy delivery. Only thing I would advise is to be aware that will also be charged by customs for taxes. Last item i bought for my crown vic entailed a £30 bill from Fed Ex for custom fees.

Was going to contact them to see if coul underprice value so to avoid taxes. or mark as a gift which also would avoid taxes

Russ! :) How are you doing fella? It must be a fair wee while, at least 4 -5 years, perhaps more?

I've obviously still got the Chevy, but haven't really been using it for the last three years, mainly because (for me at least) there's not a lot happening on this side of the world. You know me, I'm a spit & polish man and if it rains I'm likely to have a heart attack, so it only rolls a wheel when I'm absolutely guaranteed it'll stay dry - what a sad old f*****r I am!

The last event I was heading to in 2007 I left my village, ended up behind a girl in a Honda on a country road who obviously didn't where she was going - speeding up, slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, so I kept well back. Anyway, she eventually comes to a rolling halt at the grass verge, I signal to pass her, gets out on the right side of the road - F ME - she turns right out in front of me!!!!!! CRASH - straight into her rear offside, pushes her stupid car 50 ft down the road as I'm trying to get the Chevy to stop - smoke and snot everywhere - me going ballistic behind the wheel.

We eventually come to a halt - I get out and walk up to her door to see if she's ok - and what does she say to me - "Why did you drive into me?"!!!! The rest is too tedious to tell other than it took 10 months to get her insurers to agree she was at fault, thank heavens I had a witness, because if i didn't I was going to be hung out to dry by Sheilas Wheels - I hate that advert now! LOL!

Other than that nothing much has happened. :)
