Yeah, it's funny how we cope quite well whilst London grinds to a halt after a few inches lol

Can't remember the last time we had snow, just doesn't happen round these parts, ...got up this morning, lit the fire, sat back in the conservatory, swigged on my coffee, checked out the bright blue skies overhead, and wondered why the snow always misses us? Still, I wish it was warmer though, my nasty, propane powered MAC11 always suffers from cooldown in this low ambient temperature..
Life is good.... (well, it will be when I rebuild my vettes rear driveaxles and find some cheaper insurance for it. £285 for 10k miles is waaaaay too much!)

That's interesting, i didn't know you got Airsoft guns that ran on propane.

Andy, ...the gas powered weapons use either HF134 (air con. gas) which I believe boils off at about -21deg, or what they sell as high power gas (Green Gas) which is really just propane and goes off at -41deg (I think) hence the higher power especially on a warm day! I have an adapter for a butane/propane can. The mags fill just like a lighter...
These are all gas weapons, and the MAC is semi/full auto. Power wise its slightly higher than a good .177 airpistol, but will empty a 50 round mag of 6mm in about 2 seconds very loudly.. Its all metal, weighs in at around 2kg and has had several upgrades. Just the thing for drive-bys!! One guy I know from the east (..the east again, ..dammitt) fitted a pilot light at the end of his, and the muzzle flash flamed beautifully as it fired, but it also ignited inside the working receiver ejection port (not good, but scary to watch!)
Electric weaponry is more powerful yet.. These are all my gas pieces, apart from the Luger..

So do we!! W&P is my #1 event of the year. Wouldn't miss it for anything!!
We are part of the Rolling Thunder group for the show, but not through the year. It is great fun.
A professional photographer was taking shots and snapped me in full flow .... I have even started racking the slide.
The napalm strike is always fun.

Pics of me at Firefight/Section 8 at Allanton... The AK is my weapon of choice. I've watched Rolling Thunder many times. Their battles and static displays get better every year (..that napalm does sting a bit too when it hits my sunburned skin on the hill, ..although I haven't seen much sun there for a couple of years. 2007 was a quagmire, ..took me a whole day just to negotiate the vehicle park.. have pics and vids aplenty!)
..btw, aren't VN jungle boots just the best thing you could ever put on your feet??

2007 was bad.
Roger wanted me to take the shotgun into the display and gave me some of his yachting blanks. Unfortunately, the cases were cardboard. We sat, as is always the case, for a looong time up the top of the display field in the Kaiser waiting for the pyros to be set and we got soaked. Sadly, so did the blanks so it was bang .... rack, uh-oh .... The wet case expanded and dried and got locked into the rust pits that the chamber has from all those years of sitting in Long Binh. The extractor jumps the rim. The Ithica being a bottom feed/bottom eject it tries to feed another case ... play time over.
I gave Roger his cardboard cartridges back and used my own good old Crockett's specials.
The great thing about the Ithica 37 is that it has a sear trip. So, you pull the trigger and hold it down, rack the slide and as the slide goes fully forward, it fires automatically, hence you can cap all five off just as fast as you can rack it. The trouble with the Ithica 37 is that they don't call it a lightweight for nothng, and even after blanks, you have bruises, and after real rounds, your upper arm is mince for weeks.
This year was better weather....
We also had a fun time with the UK Huey last year ....
Hoping for more events with it this year.
A lifetime ambition fullfilled .... Huey door gunner.
I am really glad that I bought most of my stuff 15-20 years ago when it was considered 'nylon rubbish' by the WWII folk. I doubt I could afford most of it now. Ebay has just pushed prices beyond belief and Flip Of Hollywood has gone from Glasgow. It was amazing what you could pick up there for next to nothing.
We will be at Beltring all week. Come and say 'hi' and chat 'Nam-speak'.
I agree about the boots. Getting real dated ones in decent sizes is tricky, but they wear well, dry unbelievably quickly, and with good modern quick drying socks, they are excellent summer boots.

Respect!!:worship:
I took up airsoft skirmishing many years ago and settled upon the VN loadout. The boots are from ebay, the helmet is real VN era, the OD fatigues are real and dated from FNG supplies, Under the (Israeli, from Flip!) flak jacket is M56 webbing etc, with an NVA (Russian probably) AK mag pouch and two canteens (one for water, the other for ammo). Not allowed KA-BARS, so I keep a set of secateurs on the strap instead, just perfect for sorting out your cover easily..
Sadly, I use a GLOCK 19 as a side arm as it is the best in woodland in cold weather. Weaponwise, I still have a M733, Bennelli pump, and a mean, Chinese made, full metal, MP40. Getting a bit old now and haven't been for ages, but I still miss it..
I do admire Roger's Hawaiin shirt collection, don't think Ive seen him in the same one twice!!
I'll definately look you up this year, hope the weather holds. I usually wear my ARVN cammies at W&P. ....btw, those pics rock!!! So envious of the trip in the Huey!!!
The UK Huey is based just outside Blackpool and the owner tends to do lots of little local shows in the area over the summer, so it isn't too far away.
If you like, I will post more this evening and chat more ?

Hi, I was checking out Rolling Thunders website. I could be tempted maybe to try and join if I lived a bit farther south. The detailled uniform requirements make my airsoft loadout look so wrong. Think mine is all 1st pattern, but I'll need to look again...
Really love those Kaiser M715's and Mutts and M38A1's and whistlin' Reos and, and and....
Hi Exit,
Sent you a PM.
All the best
