i think you will struggle to find someone to de-chrome alloy wheels and then re-chrome them in scotland i got a price from a guy in hillington i think,
he wanted £400 per wheel!!! not bad i can buy new ones for $129

Seen this place the other day. Don't know if they can do what you need but they might know of someone who does.
Highland electroplaters, Dyce.

Hi Graham,
I have seen them to called them and although they have the name they do not chrome anything. i will see how much new wheels are as the back ones are quite big 20 x 10.5, front not so bad 17 x 7.5 the front are the worst so it could be a case of do front then save for the back.
cheers

If you need shipping from the states, try Ron Fenton at STS imports for a price. He has container's coming over regular and has 1 more scheduled for before christmas. He's rarely the cheapest but I know a lot of guys who use him and swear by his care of the goods. So may be worth a call.
My supercharger kit is 6 big boxes and is gonna be $400 (£260) from the seller where Ron's price is £280.
I'll decide after I've asked more questions to the seller when I put the order in. They are a very reputable tuner so I'm assuming they go with a good shipping handler.

you wont find anyone in scotland who will do them, best person to speak to would be langy on the nsra forum, he has someone who can do chroming for him who is good and doesnt charge the earth but they are down south.
if you want parts brought in from the states speak to russ pepper at http://www.randrhotrodimports.co.uk/ - tell him i sent you, hes a real nice guy and ships stuff in from the east coast, hes not expensive either.

well its been a long hard slog but have got wheels sorted,
ended up buying a set of 4 wheels in good condition from Montana USA, for $500 and have had them shipped over to CA to a company called Fast Forward Wheels they are striping down the wheels and re chroming them all the way through for $1000 then will get them shipped back to Aberdeen so car will be ready for next summer,
also bought a 18" sweet thunder straight through exhaust system and to finish off the exhaust i have 4 new polished mufflers for that quad look
and a box of chrome parts to fit over this winter, oil cooler cover with cat logo for the rear, front suspension chrome parts also, have now sorted out some pin striping for the trunk and the front fenders own design.

All coming together quite nicely then, bud
Are you getting Bob to do them or have you found someone a bit closer to home? Is the stripping done or stilll to get done?

Hi Graham,
Still have them to be done have opted for decal pinstripe as the boot has a small blister on the corner, car had this when i bought it and this is the only thing wrong with the bodywork.
So its time to sort it so i have a friend at Wright Image (Marshal) in Peterhead he is doing the design then once repair is complete i will get a few layers of clear coat over the boot and front fenders to seal them in
He is coming round today to pic and match colours with current pinstripe
will post some pictures once done.
cheers
