We pulled out mine today to fix a serious oil leak.

Leak fixed, but now I don't have reverse, and worryingly, it is trying to drive in Park(!)

Check your linkage, sounds like it needs adjusted;)

sadly, not the linkage. even manually operating it de-linked, same problem.

now wondering about the vacuum hose to the modulator...

What exactly did you do to it? how far apart did you take it?

it was leaking badly, so we:

* pulled the front oil pump off;
* replaced a gasket around the pump; and
* replaced a seal around the input shaft.

and shoogled it all back together.

Didnt touch the value body, band adjustments etc.

Grrr.
