Sounds like a doughball kinda query but bear with me.

I`d love a supercharger. Really. Every month I`ll buy parts for my car to the tune of a couple of hundred a month. I buy a load of $hite it doesn`t need just as i like my hobby. This month I bought a new steering wheel.
Any feelers I`ve put out for a blower install, I get hit with £6340 fitted or £4995 and you can finish some bits yourself or some other nonsense.

Whats the deal? Why the hell are they so expensive and is it not possible (dumb question alert) to finance the install of one? Who has a spare £6k lying around to fit a blower? No-one I know, so how do they sell or supply them?

Any enlightenment to my retard thread welcomed.:p

they are normally expensive for cars like yours because they will use a blower from say magnuson, eaton etc and to fit to late model cars a lot of specail brackets needed, also into the bargain in the states they will have to warranty the install as well speak to shmustang as he has a kit fitted to his one, a freind of ours imported one for his monaro full kit, once fitted had to be re-mapped for the blower and the finished result is , in my opinion is how the car was meant to be but i'm sure the cost all in was above 5 grand!
stubbies kit, on the other hand was less than half of that! ahh the smell of old tractor engines!

i got my supercharger from kenne bell and installed it myself i have to say the kenne bell kit is good quality and comes with everything you need to do the install and as long as you register it with kenne bell they will still honour the warranty.
the kit also comes with an sct tuner which is plug and play as you need to supply the number on the ecu so the correct tune is installed.
it does sound expensive but when you see the kit it is worth it.

hey thanks for the replies guys.

I would have asked on the MOCGB but I probably wouldn`t have got much as they`re kinda cleeky. Maybe a post on `Tarquins new school shoes` would have got a response though.
I might try a pm to a couple of guys though.
Kenne Bell. Even the name sounds good there. I`d buy the kit just for the sticker.

ShMustang , did you buy direct from these guys? Fancy a contract? :worship::D

unfortunately you cant buy direct from kenne bell they will not ship a full kit to this country.
as i said they are good with warranty issues as i needed a new seal for the front of the supercharger they shipped with no charge.
my supercharger came via sean hyland in canada as that is were my car came from.
if you are interested in a kenne bell i could ask if it was possible to shipped for you via sean hyland.

"What about the blower Max?" :worship:

Theres people with nothing. Not enough money to eat and I`m looking at buying a `thing` for my car to make it go a bit faster.

Iam sellling my pro charger supercharger on ebay at present, you would have to either buy the brackets for it or make your own

Looks all fine and dandy but I haven`t a clue whats involved in the fitting, tuning or setting up of such a thing. I live miles from nowhere and was kinda looking to drive to a place, give them my car for a day or two and come home with a grin.

Spoke to Mike Lacy tonight from ModUrStang and he`d given me a rough quote of £4800 for a Paxton Novi 1200 fitted. Everything done.
Seems like a good price and he seemed clued up and helpful.

I`ll do a bit of reading now i think.;)

The turbine versions run a lot cooler than any other supercharger, and therefore help to produce more power! Need bigger balls for bigger power! Lol
