What a day!!!

I really hope everyone enjoyed the Garage Tour as much as I did; the day went exactly to plan, except for the mad rush for burgers, must admit I didn’t see that coming, but we got there in the end

The planning of something like this is only a very small part it, as you can imagine making this happen requires a lot of effort from more than just me and with that I feel thanks are in order.

Firstly my family, Sharon worked her ass off and single handedly managed to cater for over 60 people on the night and some how found time to prepare and deliver lunch to one of the garages for 30 tourers. My sons Brandon and Nathan, my mother Anne also worked away in the back ground helping Sharon with shopping, preparing food, tidying the garden, the house and generally mucking in.

The garage owners, big thanks to Brian Daly, Graham Dickie, Henry Bradley and Ian Halforty, im sure there was a load of tidying up required to get the workshops looking that good. Judging by the content of these garages the Scottish hot rodding scene is alive and well and set to prosper as we move forward, even in this difficult commercial climate.

The Tourers, Colin, Andy P, Andy L, Stuart J, Stuart S, Henry, John B, Alan H, Dave Mc, Brian D, Gregor, Mark, Ray R, Jamie, Graham D, Graham S and others that joined in along the way, a fantastic turn out of top quality rods n customs. I even managed to catch a ride in 5 different rods as we drove from garage to garage through the day.

The band `Uncle Red`, big thanks to Jim Sharp and the lads, they played a couple of awesome sets and really rocked to joint. You just can’t beat live music to get the toes tapping.

And finally to all the others attending the event, thanks for helping to make this day a complete success and everything I imagined it could be.

On the negative side I am left with a bit of a dilemma, I named this event Hot Rod Garage Tour 2010, but I can’t for life of me think how I could possibly improve or even match this for 2011.

Thanx
Brian n Sharon xx

Brian,

Lynn and I loved the whole day from start to finish, and all we talked about on the way home was how much planning and effort this must have taken to pull off.
It was a brilliant idea to plan a cruise like this, and be able to check out these future rods in the making.
It really does make non builders like myself appreciate the amount of work that goes into a ground up build.

I don't care what you organise next...put my name down! :D

Cheers
Mark & Lynn

A big thakyou to Brian and Sharon for putting on a fabulas day and night with the organisation food band and generally a fantastic time, pointed me in the direction of the Villa Hotel which was second to none and only £60.00, still had a sore head in the morning so must have been a good night, highlight of the night was me and Gerry managed a 9 second pass in Brains 33 with the help of the old bench seat and a spare steering wheel !!!
Great company and even got fixed with Simone so cant complain, roll on next year.
Where was Largo Speed Shop ?

It will be better in 2011 as the cars in the garages will be finished, and we will all be in awe at all the work you've done ;)
