What a day!!!
I really hope everyone enjoyed the Garage Tour as much as I did; the day went exactly to plan, except for the mad rush for burgers, must admit I didn’t see that coming, but we got there in the end
The planning of something like this is only a very small part it, as you can imagine making this happen requires a lot of effort from more than just me and with that I feel thanks are in order.
Firstly my family, Sharon worked her ass off and single handedly managed to cater for over 60 people on the night and some how found time to prepare and deliver lunch to one of the garages for 30 tourers. My sons Brandon and Nathan, my mother Anne also worked away in the back ground helping Sharon with shopping, preparing food, tidying the garden, the house and generally mucking in.
The garage owners, big thanks to Brian Daly, Graham Dickie, Henry Bradley and Ian Halforty, im sure there was a load of tidying up required to get the workshops looking that good. Judging by the content of these garages the Scottish hot rodding scene is alive and well and set to prosper as we move forward, even in this difficult commercial climate.
The Tourers, Colin, Andy P, Andy L, Stuart J, Stuart S, Henry, John B, Alan H, Dave Mc, Brian D, Gregor, Mark, Ray R, Jamie, Graham D, Graham S and others that joined in along the way, a fantastic turn out of top quality rods n customs. I even managed to catch a ride in 5 different rods as we drove from garage to garage through the day.
The band `Uncle Red`, big thanks to Jim Sharp and the lads, they played a couple of awesome sets and really rocked to joint. You just can’t beat live music to get the toes tapping.
And finally to all the others attending the event, thanks for helping to make this day a complete success and everything I imagined it could be.
On the negative side I am left with a bit of a dilemma, I named this event Hot Rod Garage Tour 2010, but I can’t for life of me think how I could possibly improve or even match this for 2011.
Thanx
Brian n Sharon xx
