I know this is a long shot but I am doing a tour of the Highlands and Islands in my Chrysler Valliant Charger and have had a problem with the starter motor :( I am currently on the Isle of Lewis, well actually i’m on Harris now but my starter motor has just completely died on me, I have stripped it down and the brushes and stator are beyond repair!
The engine is a 318 V8 5.2L (Same as the Dodge one) I'm sure a stator unit from something else would bolt on to my housing, any help welcome

Baz,
If you can get to Skye, I think I have the starter from Irene's 273 Chrysler. It may be of some use. Ring me on 01470 562216 anytime mate!! Here all day!

A bit of an update
I have managed to strip my starter down and temporarily repair the stator damage with some JB weld and cut down a couple of old brushes from a dynamo and get them to fit. I also had to then strip the solenoid and turn the melted connections around to get a few starts out of it to get us home!!
So we have just arrived on the Isle of Uist and will be catching another ferry tomorrow to the Isle of Skye then a 6 hour drive home so fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong as I have had a fuel leak from the sender unit which I fixed on Sunday in Caithness and an oil leak from the sump I had to take off and fix too

All you need are some small plastic people and the scene would be complete.

Nice car.

I have to ask, do these ramps belong to someone or are they just put there randomly for people to fix their cars?
