what happens if you get stopped by police,and you have no mot.bloke from germany wants to buy my car,but wants to drive it home ?.mad iknow,but told him i'd find out.

That doesn't sound too bad, although he might not be covered by his insurance if the car isn't MOT'd. The police wouldn't do anything about that though.

MOT is a civil offence, not motoring, so no points involved.

The fine is £60, but with a full price MOT costing £50+, it's almost worth paying the fine instead.

Kirsti's right tho, it does invalidate your insurance if you're in an accident.
They have been clamping down on stuff like that recently, it is possible they can impound it, but I don't know how likely that is.

That will only matter in the UK, once he's on the continent, the rules will be different.

If he does, make sure the date and time of sale is well documented and witnessed, then if he's caught, or seen by a camera, it's all on him. You don't want it to come back on you.

I guess if he wants to risk it, you can't really stop him.
