A couple of ideas are running through my head for expanding the site:) and i thought i'd throw them out for a kick about.
First - Image Gallery, it's possible to bolt on a gallery, for pix of shows/rides, these galleries would also open for members to upload their pix on their own.
Second - Ditching the shoutbox at the top of the page in favour of a proper full fledged chat room, but i'm not sure we have enough people visiting yet to justify this.
But, it's your site :D so discuss..........

Those sound great to me Andy.
You ARE the MAN!
My knowledge of what is possible within these pages is very limited, so if you come up with the ideas - I'll gladly agree with them! :o

Andy,
All good, I personally don't know how to upload photo's but I'm sure lots more people do - it makes that on-line cruise that we laughed about at the initial meeting more possible now! ;)
I can't even get an avatar - tried but its too big or too many pixels, unless I reduce it to the size of a grain of sand.
The chat-room thing seems a good idea too - we could pick a night (eg Wednesdays from 7-10pm) and have an on-line meeting.
Have to say I'm a little disappointed at the apparent number of people who are viewing things but don't leave any feedback - good or bad!
Never realised that "our" sort were such a shy bunch.
Cheers,
Steve

FFS Steve, how big is your avatar? Admins are allowed up to 180k !!! :) E-mail it to me and i'll cast a calibrated Mk1 eyeball over it.
As for posting pictures, just use the Manage Attachments button when making a post, this will allow you to select and upload images, the board will then automatically generate a thumbnail and include it.

B*llocks! It said the pic I was using was 900.1 something and I'm allowed 19.5!!!!! It was only a cartoon picture - grrr!
Nice looking site!http://www.puretna.com/pic/smilies/thankyou.gif http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8399/thumbsup4kk.gif Couldn't get into it from uni today though (I'm a hardworking student, honest http://yelims4.free.fr/Ordinateur/Ordinateur07.gif ), but guessing you were maybe doing more modifications?
I like your ideas !! I know nothing about how all this website computer stuff works so if you have plans then go straight ahead, I'm sure it'll be good !! http://www.vocinelweb.it/faccine/fattedanoi/donia/01.gif

yeah, it's looking good.
i'm not so sure about a bigger better shoutbox ?

Nah not today Kirsti although there are a few things in the pipeline, one of them pretty radical
The site has moved to a completely new server all of our own, previously we shared our server with 1200 sites which slowed things down a bit somethimes. You probabbly couldn't view the site today because of a phenomenon known as 'DNS Propagation Delay', beacause the IP address of the site has changed it takes all the DNS servers around the world a wee while to update. If it's any consolation i couldn't view the site at work today either, which was frustrating 'cause our DNS servers are in house in the office next to mine

Hmmm, the shoutbox is one thing i haven't touched . i think beacuse the new layout is a little wider that may make the shoutbox look bigger

personally andy, i know this may sound biased as im a valeter/detailer, IMO i would have some sort of garage queen section for the freshly done projects that have been completed and detailed to the out the box finish that so many strive to acheive.
showing complete breakdowns of the start with washing to clay bar treatments, machine polishing, waxing and finishing.
to me its not just about the power.......its about the shine.
if there is any help needed with topics i:e correct methods of wash practice down to removing a stain in the carpet or what the right way to clean glass etc then give me a shout matey.:)

because majority of glass is fine laminated you will find that applying a product such as glass polish or solvent/liquid glass spray is usually easy then when light/sun catches it you get smears and holograms.
now due to the laminate of the glass if you are working from side to side you are distorting the veiw through the laminate, the correct method is to polish and take off using a top to bottom method ( i use a medium pile microfibre cloth )then go over again with your spray/solvent cleaner ( using 100% cotton cloth )and inspect.
you should find that the glass will be perfect afer this as any last smears/holograms will be removed as your working the solvent/spray cleaner which evavpourates as your working it.
you can also suffer from bad holograms/smears due to the polish being stood for some length of time, this makes the amonia seperate from the product and makes it almost greasey, you can avoid this by giving the bottle a good shake, twist it upside down and mix it up for a few minutes and you will find the product works far better.;)

You certainly know how to clean things! are you a mobile service or are you based somewhere? My mate accross the road has a vw toureg, he works off shore and was asking me if I knew anyone who could come and clean the car while he's away, as its a bit of a job for his missus to do.

thanks for the complimant mikey.
i am mobile but bythe looks of things im about 165 miles away ( thats no problem though )
if it was a general valet i wouldnt consider it due to the travel but if he wanted a detail ( more expensive but definately worth it ) then i would most certainly consider doing it for him without hesitation.
ive done work down south, top midlands etc so travel isnt a problem its down to funds really.

Although I'm new to your site would you consider a Jukebox? You just post links to whatever song catches your fancy much the same as the favourite films thread. I think cars and bikes are always much more fun with a killer tune in the background and it's a good way of picking up on what you maybe wouldn't hear on the radio. :)
