Was going through some old 8mm tapes and came across these, so i thought I'd convert them and post them on Youtube, bloody hell it takes ages to convert/edit/convert/upload/convert/upload and the quality ends up rubbish, but hay I'm probably doing it all wrong with cheap(free) programms so cant complain.
Cant remember exactly where this was, somewhere out west but Sandy Mercer and Ian and Paul Houston were there so maybe they remember.

This was one of the Illeagles shows at Butlins

Highlight for me was Luke Ramage doing a burnout in his Nova.
This video also has some early footage of my car when I was testing out the hydraulics, note it still has it original chrome bumper on the rear.

I think the 1st one was 1998, or 1999 at Calderglen Country Park, East Kilbride. Recognise Sandys Buick, Watson Hamiltons blue Mustang with the white stripes and my old Orange Camaro Z/28 at around 1.22 !!
Brilliant !!

Aye, it was held just down the road from me until it moved to Chatelherault in Hamilton. It does look a bit crushed.

brilliant clips that show was at the Lomond Centre in Glenrothes and run by Fife County cruisers. Saw a lot of people I recognised and cars, I even saw a very young me in one of them. That was Angelo that towed Chris to the show my god I forgot how long his hair was. Remember the bungee run too lol we had a bike that drove arse for tit too but cant remember if it was that show or the other one.

no, 3rd clip about 5.47 walking with andy, i have on a maroon jacket yellow writing (Strathearn Rod & Custom) which i still have and Andy blue jacket white writing (Fife County Cruisers) which he still has lol only a glimpse on and off up to about 6.27 i think.
Yes Andy and I met at the car runs and eventually got together awww
(sick bag anyone lol)
Yikes, take those down immediately, Davie. How embarrassing.
I still have the T-shirt though. :D

I think it may be slightly earlier, Alan, based on Daniel's age and the fact that that is Tommy White's big white Cougar XR7 at both events. He had that before he bought the blue 79 400 four speed TransAm which was about 96/97.
I see Dave Ettridge's black 79 TransAm, and Tom and Karen Ritchie had the white Chevy Corsica, big Tam had the maroon Grand Am, Alie had the big Buick four door (which big Tam still owns).
Dang, that brings back some fun memories ...

I bought that car from John Mimmack in Blackpool in 1985. It was a rare car, being a Q code car with the 351CJ engine. Not many put in Torino's. Imported new and sold from a UK Ford dealer in Cheshire.
I bought the GS455 and sold the GTS in 87, I think, to a guy from Dundee way, then Chris ended up with it. Good car when I had it. It is the car Barry Newman drives in 'Fear is the Key' which is one of the best car chases ever.

Great pictures Sandy:) for some reason you remind me of Swiss Tony,
"owning a classic American automobile is like making love to a woman...":D
Speaking of women, this is Linda when she had her Challenger:-

Got rid of it and now has her Monaco

Beautiful Challenger, is it a 1970?
But I have to admit I absolutely love the '72 Gran Torino and the Gran Sport, these are my two favourite cars, behind the first-gen Monte Carlo :D

While you're on the old cars theme....
Here's a little video from 1997 of my first american car back in Norway. Actually, my dad bought it for me (yeah, i was probably a bit spoiled ) and did most of the work to get it on the road, but I helped where i could and got to use it as my own. I just had to pay the fuel (which took all my cash since I was still at school then, hehe) :D

Anyone got any pics of the Edinburgh and Glasgow shows in the 70's and 80's?
There was a pic of the first Kelvin Hall show on the NSRA site - had a close look and it was of our stand (Dundee Street Freaks), with the wife walking by:)
