ok folks, last one of the year. how about a good turnout ??
providing i can get my charging problems sorted, and unless the weather is awful, i'll be there.
since it's getting dark early, and getting cold of an evening, is there enough interest to bring the start forward by an hour or so ? maybe meet at 6 instead ?
then we can all bugger off when it gets too cold and have a couple of beers before bed !!
I'll be there, as usual :D
As this is going to be the last cruise this year, I think we should do something special this time, like a synchronized engine start or an x-members group pic :D
I don't really mind if we start earlier, we just need to let everyone know about it (ie people who don't use the forum very often or don't use it at all).

yeah, dayvan dave has most folk's phone numbers.
just wondered if an earlier start would bring folks from further away

i managed to get the alternator fitted today, but having some difficulty getting a fan belt to fit.
got one ordered, so fingers crossed !!
providing it's ok, unless the weather is real bowf, i'll be there.
cougar is pretty much undriveable if the roads are slippy with salt.
not great in the wet either.
nor the dry, now i think about it !............................

lol good idea andy but don't think the wife would be happy!
Meeting at McD's at the ferry is fine by me. I'll meet wherever and drive wherever, although i think the city centre is more hassle than it's worth.

cheers andy, managed to make one of the alternators fit, just gotta get a fan belt to fit now, then i can test it.
lost 2 days cos i've been stuck in waiting for a gas fitter who didn't turn up, but hoping to get it sorted tomorrow.
initial weather forecast isn't looking great for the saturday, which could be a problem for me as i can't close my windows !!
i'm not exactly rushing to fix it, still got over a week yet.
i think the car's trying to tell me it's had enough this year, nothing's going right with it at the moment. :(

car's running fine again now, so fingers crossed.
only snag is my door poppers have stopped working, so if i don't get the time to look at them, i can't shut the windows.
so, i gotta hope it's not raining !
otherwise, i'll just need to see if i'm in kirsti's good books enough to be her bitch that night !! :o

bob, put the coog on ebay, no reserve, you neva seem to be happy with it man, go n get a real car,a (CHEVY), mayby a matiz or sumfing like that, there cheep to run, pain in the arse to work out whats wrong with it,has nae power to burnout the tyres, and it would be a good wheel choke for me parking my truck on a hill, sounds perfect to me,what morecould you ask for, ohh and the doors on them line up pretty good lol
quattrothedog
26-10-09, 07:43 PM
it is beginning to fall apart around me !!
if i'd known how bad the doors really were i'd have not bothered fitting the poppers !! they're cool when they work, but have proved to be a total pain in the ass !!
it'd be ok if i could get a garage with power, could get it all sorted out.
trailing down to a cold damp lock up isn't really encouraging me to look at it !!
it's running much better, i found a perished vacuum hose, that's helped a bit. it's better now the alt is done too. guessing it maybe wasn't getting 12v at the coil !
i think the tranny is slipping a little, gonna try to have a look at it over the winter, maybe try to adjust the bands.
then hopefully the burnouts will be bigger and better next year !!
or maybe i should just rip the engine out an stick it in the herald ?..............

Lee, how's T/A going? Have you done anything to it yet? My Pontiac killer is coming back to me in January and I already have got sh1t loads of new parts to fit. You, not gonna recognize it in the Spring.
May the power be with you :)

i'll park it round the corner.
