We are up to about 5 cars I think ? Might even get our own wee bit all to ourselves ? 2 or 4 wheels, it dont matter, as long as its different. My mate has the contact details and I believe every participant gets free entry to the Aircraft museum !

Hi Brian,

The guys that are interested at present are going up on the Sunday, to put there cars on display. Guy arranging it on their behalf is quite enthuisastic for loads of different types of vehicles, with a muscle, power, rod or similiar status. So far we have a couple of camaros, mustang, buick and my Ram.
Obviously, the more the merrier. As for camping, I aint sure, but I can get the contact details and post them up ?
Any excuse for a get together ? As there are other things to look at, and do, its more open to familys, or those who are maybe gifted with non loving car partners ?

An application form for Magnificent Machines is attached. Although you are not a club as such, just use the second ‘Club’ bit of the form to list the vehicles you and your friends intend to bring along.



Magnificent Machines is a celebration of all types of machines relating to transportation and we hope to have a selection of cars, motorbikes, scooters, buses, fire engines, tractors, steam traction engines, farm machinery, quad bikes, and go karts. In addition, we also have demonstrations over the two day event by Monster Trucks who will be entertaining the crowds with a spectacular display of their destructive power. There will also be a small funfair, a range of activities for children and a selection of trading stalls and caterers. We welcomed crowds of approx 4,000 over this weekend last year. On-call's always a pain, but at least I'm clear this time.. We'd like to turn out for this one too in the vette... :cool:

I love this place, it would be the ideal site for a major, spectacular car show as its on the A1 giving a decent run up for the guys from England and also good access from the north and west too! All that tarmac for short runs and burnouts etc... :D

I went along last year and the cars in the public carpark were more interesting! seemed to be a distinct lack of cars. there were some vintage and some fire engines and steam engines but nothing exciting really.
Im sure you guys can put a pretty good stand together this year.

Andy I hope you dont mind us highjacking your forum and turning it in to a club for this show :D, as this forum is your baby I hope you can make it to this event as it will probably be the last show a few of us go to this year.

Phoned the organisers today Malcome is on holiday but spoke to the woman he is working for, a lovely lady called Linda, she is very keen for us to attend and has emailed me the entry form ( just need to get my email working now as this new laptop is doing my tits in) We can do an entry as a club which will save us all phoning individually. She needs this entry form back asap, so anyone wanting to go as an "xmember", let me know, could anyone who has already registered under the xmembers name please let me know as I don't want to register the same cars twice. She did say that it was capped at 20 cars per club but could push it to 25 , not a problem as there are a few club names that could be used if we go over the 25, Im just dealing with the xmembers aplication here.

Dont think anyone will have a problem with that, unless we are over subscribed as we are only alowed 20-25 cars under the xmembers club name, then "actual" xmembers cars would have to come first. I've put your name on the list for the time being ;)

Bit of both. the cars are parked on the grass between the hangers but there is a tarmac road that everyone does a parade arround for the public.
There was also a couple of Monster Trucks doing their thang last year, dont know if they are back this year.

yeah they did, but you know what it's like with late cancellations and people wanting to come at the last minute, think as long as there are not more than twenty cars per club and the application is "in" by the correct date, they are not to fussed what actual cars turn up, as there are no tickets for the show they just wave all the cars through.

I have been emailing them the changes to the list.

Yeah, it's mostly finances which are killing it off for us.

Obviously my car's still in bits, Tex is roadworthy, but his tax has run out, and with Kirsti still not earning, it doesn't really seem worth taxing him to attend one event.

I might have been tempted to take the rat, but it's got a broken brake light switch, so I don't wanna chance it till it's fixed. Safety first. :cool:

I enjoyed the day. It was nice to get Linda's car out for a run, and nice to see everyone.
